Do You Sway During Your Backswing ?

A Sway or Swaying is a common swing characteristic amongst the average golfer whereby there is an excessive lower body lateral movement away from the target during the backswing which forces your body weight to the outside of the trail foot, when the opposite should happen ie the body weight should be more towards the inside of the trail foot.

In the Body-Swing connection the inability to rotate the trail hip internally can be a cause of a sway as can the ability to seperate the upper body from the lower body, as can the inability to stabilise the trail leg during the backswing.

Any physical limitations tend to show up with a body screen & swing analysis. In most cases limitations can be corrected with areobic exercise if that does not happen to be the case limitations can be worked around for improvement.

If you have problems with a Sway or Swaying Please come and see me in Pitlochry.

I have been trained and Certified by The Titleist Performance Institute.
